Sonosite has been producing portable ultrasound machines for some time (since 1999 as a spin off from ATL), and have perfected the general use portable ultrasound machine. These lightweight, durable and efficient machines are simple to use and their lack of configuration settings can be seen as a good thing for general practices. For instances, Sonosite ultrasound machines work perfectly inside a practice that does not provide ultrasound services throughout the entire day, but instead as an added service to their existing practice. Whether it is the Sonosite Micromaxx or the Sonosite Titan, these devices work great for diagnostic applications or line guidance.

This is a short guide to the very beginning of your ultrasound machine purchasing decision.
First, if at any time you have specific questions or don’t know where to start with this decision, call one of our Ultrasound experts at (866) 828 1800. No matter where you are in the purchasing decision process, we will be glad to assist you with timely advice.
Second, there is some basic information you will need to determine:
- What will the main purpose of this ultrasound be? Is it for your OB/GYN ultrasound, cardiac ultrasound or for vascular ultrasound purposes?
- Do you want a stationary or mobile ultrasound? Many breakthroughs in mobile ultrasound technology have come about in recent years, making these machines more affordable and more capable.
- What is your budget? Or, even if it might not be the best time to commit the initial capital towards such equipment, consider leasing an ultrasound machine for a low monthly cost. Sometimes it only takes a few procedures and the knowledge of the correct CPT codes to file with insurance companies to get a proper return on leased ultrasound equipment.
- Do you prefer a specific manufacturer? Perhaps your staff has better knowledge and experience with GE ultrasound machines, or you are more comfortable with Siemens products. This is very important to lay out in your initial decision making process.
Look for part 2 in your ultrasound buying decision coming next week!

MedCorp offers the Siemens Acuson P10 for Sale
When first released, portable ultrasound machines had one of two issues (or both): they were either too clunky to lug around or the display quality was too low to be used reliably in diagnosis. Much has improved over the years, and the infusion of portable ultrasound equipment, such as the Siemens Acuson P10 handheld device, in everyday usage has allowed doctors and practitioners the ability to gather information and make decisions for patients in a more efficient manner. However, it is not only the medical staff who are benefiting from the use of portable ultrasound machines; the patients are seeing reduced wait times and quicker turn around on prognosis.
These benefits have resulted in a change in workflow for doctors by allowing for more information in the initial physical examination. In fact, many doctors are now comparing the portable ultrasound devices to a stethoscope, in that it is readily available and can be used easily.
MedCorp offers a wide line of new and used portable Ultrasound machines for sale. Contact us today!
